Linking Actions With Monitors
General Information
In the system, actions can only be attached to a monitor after the monitor has been created. The typical workflow begins with creating the monitor itself. Once the monitor exists, users can attach one or more actions to it. The application provides a dedicated step-by-step wizard to guide this process, although it is also possible to create a monitor first and attach actions at any later time.
Each monitor can have multiple actions assigned, but no more than two actions of the same type can be attached to a single monitor.
When a monitor is first created, it is in the CREATED state, meaning it exists but is inactive. To activate it, the monitor must be manually started in the monitor’s dedicated view, at which point it transitions to the RUNNING state and begins observing the system. Monitors can also be paused at any time, temporarily suspending their activity.
Both monitors and actions are fully editable. Users can add, remove, or modify actions assigned to a monitor, and individual actions can be updated as needed. Monitors and actions can also be deleted at any time.
The system provides comprehensive monitoring capabilities through the Monitoring & Alerting module. Users can track when the last action was executed, which monitors are currently active, and the overall status of all monitoring workflows. This ensures full visibility and control over automated responses and system behavior.
The typical workflow is presented on the graph:
